Laurie Avadis qualified as a solicitor in 1985. He was a partner in Kaye Tesler solicitors and The Luper Partnership before setting up his own firm in 1998. Avadis and Co was highly regarded firm in North London for 22 years until 2020, with offices in Belsize Park and later Chalk Farm and strong community connections.

The case of L – family financial proceedings. We secured the transfer of the matrimonial home into the client’s name for payment of £40,000 and child maintenance without issuing court proceedings and well as completing her divorce.

We acted in the case of R where there was a family dispute in respect of an estate valued in excess of £1m. Despite being very contentious we negotiated a settlement without court proceedings. The client said:-
'Thank you so much for your patience and support throughout this difficult situation.'
In the case of M – a family financial case, the client was prepared to walk away with £100,000 because she was being bullied by her husband. Mr Avadis constantly supported and reassured her and she received nearly £230,000. She stated:-
‘It was a pleasure working with you and your team, I couldn't have done it without you. I will recommend you and your firm as one of the best Law firms in this country.'
The Case of S on the 5th August where Laurie was representing a child in complex care proceedings a Circuit Judge said the following in her judgment
The Case of S- June 2020
Assisted Mr S in winning a claim for £200,000 in damages plus costs in a property dispute.
Letters of Administration were obtained for Mr H in difficult circumstances.
He said: ‘We like to think justice has been done. On a personal note you have gone a long way in restoring my faith in the legal system. I can’t thank you enough.’
After assisting Mr I with finalising his divorce, he said: ‘Thank you so much for making this process as straightforward as these things can be. I will definitely ask you to do my will at some point.’
Assisted Mr A with a family dispute over his home. He said: ‘You are extremely helpful and have guided me perfectly.
In a contested probate case representing children we obtained the settlement the client wanted without a contested hearing.
She said: ‘I have no words to express my happiness at the moment and my gratitude towards you and the great way you guided and supported me all along. I wish you all the best and hope to meet you again on a more pleasant occasion.’
Sounds like congratulations are in order for what has been achieved in this case. A gold standard for others to follow.
