Our team is, quite frankly, sports mad!
They are passionate about nearly every kind of sport, both professional and at an amateur level; most of them play sports in their spare time. This is why we have such a buoyant Sports client base including Sports agents, coaches, Chairmen of clubs, individual sports people etc.
The team, led by Jeffrey Lewis, have successfully represented both amateur and professional sports people facing criminal, disciplinary and regulatory proceedings for over thirty years. These include national and internationally known sports people from the world of boxing, football, horse racing, snooker, hockey, and rugby.
What distinguishes us from other firms?
In short we have an excellent in house advocacy team, who are also part of the Sports Law team. They are experienced, highly successful advocates, who are equally at home in a tribunal hearing as they are in a criminal court. Their criminal advocacy skills are perfectly honed for the tribunal arena.
The key, in particular, with disciplinary hearings is to be able to thoroughly prepare our clients defence quickly, because these hearings are always listed shortly after the event/behaviour in question. We excel under pressure and are used to having to move quickly because of our criminal expertise - the criminal courts wait for nobody!!
We do, on occasion, use specialist barristers who will also have a criminal law background.
