Jeffrey Lewis
successfully defended
- a businessman, arrested by the NCA, for suspected offences of breach of sanctions offences and money laundering.
Amongst a blaze of publicity, in the international and National press, because this was the first arrest for sanction breaches, Jeffrey working with the excellent Gavin Irwin of Counsel ( 2 Hare Court ) made written representations to the NCA about the merits of their investigation and the case was dropped by them within weeks.
Unan Choudhury
successfully represented
- one defendant, amongst nine defendants, who was the only one to be acquitted after trial relating to allegations on indictment of “ County lines “ Class A drugs trafficking.
Siobhain Egan
successfully represented the following clients
- a professional woman arrested for money laundering and Modern Slavery allegations. investigation and proceedings were dropped upon receipt of detailed representations and supporting evidence (sent by Siobhain) by the Modern Slavery unit of the Metropolitan Police.
- a Financial services professional investigated for the authorities for unlawful lending practices across the Midlands ..this was a major investigation ..which was eventually discontinued after two years and after written representations were sent by Siobhain.
