- Mr S, a Romanian National living in the UK, facing a European Arrest Warrant. Mr S was alleged to have committed 8 offences in Romania between 2013-2015, which included Kidnap and Theft, and not appearing for Trial when his matters were brought before the Romanian Courts. A warrant was issued by the Romanian Justice to extradite Mr S back to Romania.
The matter was brought before the City of Westminster Magistrates Court, where counsel Mr Robbie Stern articulated that Mr S had built strong meaningful connections to the UK, raising a family and living as a law abiding citizen. Any extradition would have a detrimental effect on his and his families future. Mr S was not in Romania at the time he was allegedly served his hearing notices, and had no knowledge of these proceedings existing. Upon listening to the defences submissions, the Court discharged the European Arrest Warrant, and Mr Sara was not extradited from the UK.
