Crime & Fraud Cases
Unan Choudhury instructed James Reilly and the excellent Tana Adkin QC
  • to represent an individual charged with murder, following an initial trial during which the Jury were unable to decide. This was a difficult, complex case, during our client steadfastly maintained his innocence.
James Reilly represented
  • a well known local politician who was acquitted of an allegation of domestic abuse.
Siobhain Egan represented
  • a self employed businessman, who faced an application for restraint proceedings  (Account Freezing order) by HMRC in relation to two business accounts both holding large sums of money. Barnaby Hone (5 St Andrews Hill) was instructed and appeared during the first hearing of the matter - he made a strong submission to the District Judge that HMRCs assertions that the monies in the account were the proceeds of crime (tax evasion) were insufficient to restrain in the first instance and the application to restrain was rejected by the Court.
