Careless driving and drink driving

Client fell asleep at the wheel after going for a drink after work and, being on night shifts for four weeks, had a three car pile up.

Client was charged with careless driving and drink driving.  Was stressed at work, and hadn’t been sleeping properly due to anxiety.

Summary

The client was disqualified from driving for 12 months and was given a fine. A drink driver's rehabilitation course was offered and the client MUST re-apply for a NEW driving licence at the end of disqualification.

There was no separate penalty for careless driving.
