Youth Crime Lawyers London

Our specialist youth crime lawyers deal with every type offence (violence, drugs, firearms, sexual allegations, Public Order Act, murder, gang-related crime) and represent young people who have become embroiled with the criminal justice system through the whole process from arrest, police station interviews, caution, to the Youth Court and, in the most serious cases, the Crown Court.

We are available 24/7 and work nationally (fee levels permitting).

The whole criminal justice process, though designed on the whole to rehabilitate the young person, is frightening, intimidating and confusing. It is our job to guide the young person (who could be as young as 10 years old), and his or her guardian or parents, gently and patiently all through the system, ensuring the best outcome possible.

Because of the emphasis upon rehabilitation, there are often many opportunities to divert the young client away from the criminal justice system and we would exploit every opportunity to achieve this.

It is also our job to identify the juvenile defendant who has special needs and requirements, for example those who have educational, mental health or language issues, and we instruct the most appropriate experts in those fields to assist.

We would also work closely with the young person’s school (if appropriate) and the relevant community services available.

The last thing that anybody wants is for a youngster to have a conviction that could prejudice his or her employment or further education opportunity.
