Lydia is a senior qualified Solicitor and police station representative with over 14 years’ extensive experience of criminal law. She achieved a 2:1 in her LLB law degree and then went on to complete her LPC at the college of Law in Guildford. She then began her career as a paralegal in 2011 with a firm based in Reading, and went on to undertake her training contract, concentrating on criminal and family law.
She was administered to the Law Society Roll of Solicitors in July 2014 and obtained her CLAS accreditation only 7 months later which gained her a place on the Magistrates Court and police station duty solicitors rotas.
Over the past 14 years of working within the criminal justice system, Lydia has represented a vast variety of clients for a range of offences, from low level offences, up to murder cases. Lydia represents clients on both a private or legal aid basis and is praised highly by clients for her experience in all aspects of criminal law.
She specialises in motoring law and of note she won a trial by advancing a needle phobia of a recovered drug addict who was charged with failure to provide a specimen for analysis. To add to her success in motoring offences, she recently made a successful exceptional hardship argument which resulted in the client being able to retain his licence despite having 19 penalty points. Many cases have involved new drivers who Lydia has successfully argued for a short disqualification of 28 days or less to ensure they do not have to take a retest if they have had 6 or more penalty points imposed within their first 2 years of driving.
Not only does she have substantial experience in criminal law but Lydia was also involved in reviewing inquiry evidence in the Grenfell Tower disaster. This assisted in developing her meticulous attention to detail and strengthened her knowledge of the overlap between civil and criminal law.
