Our firm’s firearms law specialist Laura Saunsbury has been enjoying a run of successes in settling firearms licensing appeals for her clients, without needing to take the case to a full hearing in the Crown Court. Throughout 2017 Laura has dealt with a series of appeals against various police forces in England and Wales where she has presented such a strong case on paper for her client that the police have been persuaded to reconsider their decision and have voluntarily reinstated her client’s firearm and/or shotgun certificate. In one such case which she successfully resolved last month, Laura’s grateful client had this to say about her work:
“Laura Saunsbury at Lewis Nedas previously helped me enormously when I was wrongly accused of a criminal offence. After being acquitted so completely by the jury in crown court, and my accuser found to be lying by the judge himself, you can imagine my dismay to then have my firearms certificate revoked by the police. Once again Laura came to my rescue and I now have my firearms back and can enjoy target shooting with my brothers again. Thanks to Laura I now have my life back as a certifying aircraft engineer which was all in jeopardy, had I not got justice.” Matt from West Sussex.
