We acted for a client facing a serious offence under the Companies Act, which was a strict liability offence (i.e. there is no defence).
After having prepared a wealth of detailed mitigating evidence, medical and psychological reports, the Judge ordered that she be conditionally discharged for 12 months; the usual tariff is a custodial sentence.
