Lucy is a practising lawyer specialising in real estate and cross-border wealth management, providing legal services primarily to multinational corporations and high-net-worth individuals. She became qualified in January 2026 and is a member of Richard McConnell’s (Director) highly regarded property and wealth management team. She has particular expertise in delivering comprehensive legal solutions for Chinese enterprises and families seeking international expansion.
She offers full-cycle legal services spanning property financing, acquisition, and lease management. This includes advising corporate occupiers on tenant-side commercial leasing, with particular expertise in strategic relocation, portfolio management, and UK market entry, as well as assisting with the design and implementation of complex financing structures such as bank loans and finance leases for the acquisition of investment properties or leveraged buyouts. Lucy also handles banking and leasing matters related to properties, including mortgage financing and operating leases, to deliver integrated solutions. She has extensive experience supporting international clients, including leading Chinese consumer brands, in financing, leasing, and acquiring flagship premises in key areas such as the City of London and the West End. Additionally, Lucy is proficient in cross-border transaction structures and communicates fluently in Mandarin, working closely with clients to navigate partnership arrangements, share acquisitions, lease assignments, and business transfers involving complex corporate and ownership frameworks, while ensuring compliance with lenders’ requirements.
Lucy also advises high-net-worth individuals on prime residential property transactions and provides systematic legal support to founders of Chinese listed companies and their families. She assists them in establishing asset allocation structures centred on UK and global real estate, with an emphasis on long-term wealth protection and succession planning. Her services extend beyond property transactions to include asset protection, debt isolation, tax optimisation, and orderly succession through tools such as offshore companies and trusts. For instance, she advises on setting up offshore holding companies to hold properties combined with family trust arrangements, thereby safeguarding control and privacy while enabling intergenerational wealth transfer.
Lucy deeply understands the commercial backgrounds and practical needs of Chinese high-net-worth clients and is committed to delivering precise, efficient, and results-oriented solutions in Chinese and English. She offers tailored legal structuring and professional support closely aligned with clients’ personal and business goals in global asset planning, with a focus on UK real estate.
Prior to pursuing a career in law, Lucy studied English and Applied Linguistics at a Russell Group university in Xi’an, China, and at the University of Nottingham, UK. She completed her Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) with commendation at the University of Central Lancashire, and subsequently completed both the Legal Practice Course (LPC) and an LLM at the University of Law, Manchester.
Outside the office, Lucy enjoys traveling, walking in London’s parks, and volunteering at the South Westminster Law Centre.
