A gamekeeper who had his firearm and shotgun certificates revoked after a fire in which several of his guns were destroyed recently appointed LNL’s in-house firearms law specialist Laura Saunsbury to advise and represent him in an appeal against that decision. Within 3 days of Laura writing to the licensing authority to make a formal request for the revocation decision to be reviewed an agreement was reached to reinstate her client’s certificates and instead issue him with a warning letter reminding him of his security obligations. The certificates were returned to him very quickly, and without the need to even start appeal proceedings. Given how important his guns and certificates are for his occupation as a gamekeeper, this was an excellent result, and Laura’s client was delighted.

In expressing his thanks, he said “You’ve been amazing, Laura, I really appreciate what you’ve done for me. I’ve never had to use a solicitor before, so I went with the Gun Trade Association‘s recommendation to contact you. Now I wouldn’t use anybody else. I will definitely recommend you to anyone I know who has a problem with their firearm or shotgun certificates”.
