Unan joined Lewis Nedas in 2005 and is based at our head office in Camden. He specialises in all aspects of criminal defence work.
Prior to qualifying, he gained substantial experience whilst working with senior partners at the firm in dealing with the most serious of offences including murder, GBH, fraud, rape, and robbery. Since his qualification he has developed a particular expertise in dealing with drugs cases, particularly large-scale supply and importation matters.
He especially enjoys representing clients at the police station and regularly represents clients at the Magistrates’ and Youth Courts throughout London and the south east.
As a fluent Bengali speaker he is often instructed by clients who do not speak English as a first language from the large Bangladeshi communities in Camden and East London.
As well as dealing with the most serious of offences, Unan is also regularly instructed on a private basis to deal with Motoring offences and Benefit Fraud matters.
Unan is a member of the LCCSA, ILPA, and the Society of Asian Lawyers.
“I wanted to pass on my thanks to Unan. Sunday evening was an interesting event and … I have had feedback from various sources thanking us for our attendance. More importantly, it was impressive watching how Unan handled himself and how warmly he was greeted by numerous people there. He gave a speech which I am told was well received by his Bengali peers. All this was after having been at the hospital with his wife all day. He has created a very strong nod with these guys over a short time and this can only stand him and Lewis Nedas in good stead in the future. I know this might sound a bit gushing, but I have introduced a number of people into these circles for various purposes and nearly everyone has let me down. I hope we can meet again soon.”
