Leila specialises in criminal defence work, crime related civil work and extradition. She conducts all manner of criminal defence work ranging in seriousness from motoring offences to murder.
- R v S – Drug trafficking case. Client acquitted of importation of 10kgs cocaine from Antigua.
- UK Government v E – Appeal to ECHR. Part ii Extradition. Client wanted for trial on double homicide to Maryland. Secured assurance that death penalty will not be imposed. Appeal pending to ECHR under Article 3 to protect client against life without parole sentence. Case was reported.
- R v M & Others – Money laundering. Appeal to House of Lords.
Leila's background is that of a criminal barrister, having been called bar at Lincoln’s Inn in 1994. She joined the firm in 1999 and soon after cross-qualified as a solicitor with Higher Rights of Audience. Leila is a VHCC panel member.
