Excellent sentencing result for Jeffrey Lewis in a VAT fraud case

FraudMagnifyYet another success for Jeffrey who represented a businessman, who faced substantial VAT prosecution spanning many years.

It was a complex case, and after submitted detailed mitigation the Sentencing Judge ordered that a suspended term of imprisonment should be the appropriate sentence for the long running offence.

1. fraudSiobhain Egan acted for a businessman and a banker both investigated for dishonesty and fraud. After submitting detailed representations, the matter was dealt with by way of a civil remedy;

2.Siobhain also acted for a consultant doctor, who was prosecuted for an offence of systematic pharmaceutical fraud over a period of over three years. Detailed mitigation, collated by Siobhain, was put forward on the defendant's behalf by the excellent Mark Cotter QC.
