Acquittal for Lewis Nedas client on Class A drugs conspiracy charge

cuffsSean Reilly acted for an individual (one of a large number of defendants), who faced a conspiracy of supplying 80kgs of cocaine. He denied all knowledge of the drugs. His advocate James Reilly made a successful submission of 'no case to answer' after carefully analysing the evidence served, which was primarily telephone cell site and co-location evidence.

Latest Acquittals for Lewis Nedas Specialist Criminal Lawyers

cuffsSean and James Reilly defended an individual accused of a serious allegation of violence (S.18) against his partner.

The complainant had called the police and stated that our client had assaulted her with a weapon; the defendant denied the allegation from the outset.

He stated that the 'alleged victim' had consumed a large amount of alcohol and an equally large amount of different (illegal) recreational drugs. She then picked up a monkey wrench to threaten him, but the weapon swung back and hit her in the face causing very serious injuries. She sustained injuries to her cheek bone and eye socket.

The client was acquitted, after the Reilly brothers had thoroughly prepared his defence.

Press Release on behalf of former Detective Inspector Cliff Knuckey

Operation Tarbes

After nearly 4 years, former Detective Inspector Cliff Knuckey has finally been cleared of any wrongdoing in this case. The strain on him over this period has been considerable. Mr Knuckey, who had over 30 years unblemished service as a Police Officer in the Metropolitan Police, has always maintained his own innocence and that there was no corruption in this case. Mr Knuckey remains mystified about why he was ever prosecuted when all along the Prosecution accepted his account of the facts.

Mr Knuckey would like to thank his legal team of Sam Stein QC (Mansfield Chambers), Jon Green (Drystone Chambers), and Keith Wood of Lewis Nedas Law for all their hard work and support throughout this difficult time.
