Recent results and instructions for Lewis Nedas Law and Siobhain Egan

  1. FraudMagnifySiobhain Egan represented a solicitor investigated for systematic fraud, the investigation and proceedings were dropped after she made strong representations to the investigating authority;

  2. Siobhain is also instructed to represent an individual investigated by the SFO concerning historical bribery and corruption abroad. Their investigation was opened earlier this year.

This is the 6th recent SFO investigation / prosecution ,in which we have been instructed. We have been successfully defending these cases since 1992, and have considerable proven expertise when dealing with an increasingly (and unnecessarily) aggressive SFO.

Civil Litigation: the Employment Tribunal Fees Saga

One of the biggest headlines of the summer was the UK Supreme Court decision concerning the legality of employment tribunal fees. 

As civil litigation and employment law experts, we at Lewis Nedas have followed the ups and downs of the case with deep interest. This month saw the UK Government begin to refund the illegally charged fees, the crucial next practical step following on from the Supreme Court’s judgment.

Recent instructions and successes for Lewis Nedas and Litigation and Commercial Solicitor Adam Creasey

FraudinvestigationRecent Successes for Adam Creasey:

  • Successfully defending two professionals accused of harassment by a neighbour, who was legally represented, in injunction proceedings.  The judge eventually dismissed the Claim as “totally without merit";

  • Negotiating and settling a difficult dispute on behalf of a well-known music producer;

  • Successfully defending an employer in a whistleblowing and unfair dismissal claim made by an employee who was legally represented.  The matter was eventually settled for less than ¼ of the damages claimed.

Recent instructions for Adam:

  • Structuring and negotiating the appointment of a Senior Employee (Director) on behalf of a multi-million pound limited company;

  • Defending a claim and issuing a counterclaim for professional negligence against a solicitor;

  • Dealing with a collective enfranchisement matter involving a leaseback to the Council
