Miles has conduct of a wide variety of criminal matters with particular emphasis on large scale fraud and serious crime.

Miles has substantial experience in defending individuals in prosecutions brought by the Special Casework Unit of the Crown Prosecution Service, Revenue and Customs and the Department of Trade and Industry. He  Has represented defendants in a number of high profile and notable cases in recent years including Conspiracy to manipulate shares under the Financial Services Act(City Slickers/Mirrorgate Prosecution) Highjacking and Conspiracy to intercept communications(Jimmy Choo Computer Hacking case) when he also acted as junior trial advocate.

Miles’ current cases include representing his defendant in a “Boiler Room” fraud where it is alleged that investors were tricked by false promises or misleading information into making investments in shares, the total loss alleged by the prosecution totals over £2.4 million.

Miles also represents a defendant (one of eleven) charged with conspiracy to defraud car insurance companies.  The alleged loss caused for those companies as a result of this fraud committed over 2 years’ amounts to in excess of £500,000.

Miles also represents a defendant charged with conspiring to supply £5 million worth of cocaine on a yacht from the Caribbean to the South Coast of England.  The same defendant is further indicted on charges of conspiracy to commit robbery, possession of firearms and ammunition.

Miles also represents a defendant who is one of 10 charged with conspiracy to supply a substantial quantity of Class A drugs namely cocaine.  The matter has been investigated by the Serious Organised Crime Agency in partnership with the Metropolitan Police.

Miles is a supervisor of VHCC cases a High Court advocate and member of the Peer Review Panel in the category of crime.

Miles has been recommended as a leader in his field in Chambers and Partners 2009

Career
Trained at specialist criminal law firm Robin Murray & Co. Qualified in 1994, joining Lewis Nedas & Co as Assistant Solicitor.  Partner since 1998.

Personal
Miles was born on 14th November 1967.  Educated at Manchester University (LLB Honours).  His interests include travelling and Liverpool Football Club.
