Following the excellent Panorama programme on Mazher Mahmood - The Fake Sheikh (broadcast BBC 1 on 12 November 2014 at 7:30pm) we have now been instructed by our client, who was one of the men entrapped in that allegation, to formally ask both the CPS and the Metropolitan Police to conduct a thorough, robust inquiry into the prosecution of that matter, which resulted in the detention in prison of our client for seven months before the case was dropped by the CPS.
Additionally, we have also been instructed to instigate civil proceedings against the parties involved and will be working closely with Mark Lewis of Taylor Hampton.
