New Extension of Powers under Civil Recovery Orders

Nick Brett represented a client facing a claim for civil recovery in connection of allegations of drug trafficking and money laundering which were dismissed by the Court, but it was held that a Civil Recovery Order was valid where allegations of false and misleading statement on a mortgage application form had been proved against the client. Case reported at SOCA v Pelekanos EWHC 2307.
